Facing the Giants

Tonight, the wonderful "Class," meaning the college age Sunday School class got together at the leader's house and watched Facing the Giants. The girls cried and the boys made boo-hoo noises and made fake sniffles. Things we got out of the movie: Billy is now going to have a sucker in his mouth at all times because of the Giants coach, Dan is going to start saying "Oh Dan" when something frustrating happens, and Steve is going to continue to point out "Billy sweaters."

My favorite scenes in the movie were 1) when the Eagles coach made the leader of the team do a death crawl the whole length of the football field 2) when the coach and his wife finally found what was making there house smell. The coach scared the wife and I thought it was cute 3) when the crippled dad stands up for his son at the field goal 4) when the assistant coaches are putting up the uniforms and joking with the head coach 5) the duct tape on the coaches grill and 6) when a player and his dad gets the coach a new truck.

On a serious note, this is not just a football movie with the team Giants. It's about all of us having our own giants to face and overcoming those giants. But even more it's about giving God our all and loving him and trusting him with all of our hearts.

It is always wonderful to get together with Christian friends and I am very blessed to have a great church family. Thank you Ruth and Steve for letting us use your home and being so hospitable.

Well, until we meet again, Adieu.
